Mosaic Pattern1

I Started out sketching ideas on my sketchbook than used Illustrator to first copy what was on my sketchbook, then changed the design.

I wanted to go with the linear idea, but switch to black background and white lines just to see what it would be like.

This time I wanted to try with more complex lines. However it seemed like it was too complex that it didn't look so well as a pattern.

I started to want to make a more 3D effect, so I played with the thicknesses and distances of lines. It turned out very nice, but this could not be a pattern. So...

I copied and pasted them to make them into a pattern!

Here is it, the sketches of my asymmetrical motif. I put my pencil onto my sketchbook, read the word "whimsical" in my mind while letting my hand draw with the word.

After picking my favorite design, I took a picture of it and used Illustrator to trace it.

Color Pallet

I simply used eye drop to find all these color from my previously mind map.
